SINGAPORE, 26 September 2016 – After five weeks of challenges and eliminations, the final four for Food Hero 2016 have been selected. A panel comprising of production and creative experts evaluated the entries based on the participant’s personality, on-screen appeal and their creativity in producing original and engaging content. The four contenders will battle it out in the final challenge at the Food Hero finale taking place in Singapore on 20 October 2016. The winner of Food Hero 2016 will join Scripps Networks Interactive as its newest talent on their channels, Asian Food Channel and Food Network.

Leading up to the finale, the four finalists were challenged to produce and edit their own video based on GR848, a popular AFC digital series. In this challenge, contestants had to venture to their respective hometowns in search of great eats under USD$8. The challenge tested their hosting skills and on-screen personality.
Meet the top 4 finalists for Food Hero 2016:
The 27-year-old’s love for travelling has allowed him to dig deep into the cultures and heritage of the different countries he visits. Inspiring him to always create unique recipes based on the destination.
In his audition video, he brought us to Antojos, a restaurant that he owns and runs. He also showed us how he spends his time perfecting his culinary skills in the kitchen. Besides cooking, he sings, plays basketball and confidently proclaims that he loves being in front of the camera!
Take a look at his Instagram feed and you will find yourself salivating at the various photos of his self-prepared dishes. His boyish looks and charms, together with his culinary skills are a bonus and will swoon you over. He believes that everybody can make good meals but it takes practice to ensure perfection in every execution.
He prepared a simple yet impressive version of scrambled eggs during in his audition video, showing that even the simplest of dishes can be whipped into perfection when given one’s full attention.
Cool and laidback would be the first few words you will think of when you look at Kim. But once he steps into the kitchen, his culinary talent takes center stage and propels him to produce only the best meals for his guests. Good food must be shared with others and that is exactly what Kim would like to do with his dishes and recipes.
With his culinary skills, and the only one to coach someone else to cook in his audition video, he prepared fried rice with duck and Japanese omelette.
Pattaya, who prefers to be called ‘B’ is not just passionate about cooking, she even grows her own food in her own balcony! She then uses her produce to whip up delicious and healthy Thai meals. Putting extra emphasis on the organic nature of her meals, from the way she plates her dishes to the taste.
She brought us around her humble home in her audition video, showing the simple and healthy lifestyle she leads. Besides cooking, she loves travelling and exploring different cultures and cuisines.
