The Next Iron Chef: Redemption...Meet the finalists

Former Next Iron Chef contestants return for a second chance to prove themselves that they are worthy of being the next Iron Chef on The Next Iron Chef: Redemption. World-class chefs will battle it out to win a slot on the most competitive cooking show on television. Through various culinary challenges, these chefs must prove that they have what it takes to be considered one of the greatest, most innovative chefs around. Tune in every Thursday at 8:00pm starting 3rd January.

Meet the returning chefs that will compete in Kitchen Stadium one more time.

Elizabeth Falkner

Redemption from: Season 4

Elizabeth Falkner (San Francisco, Calif.) was once known for all things dessert and is now widely acknowledged to span both savory and pastry at her restaurants. Her bakery Citizen cake was an immediate success and was awarded a Michelin recommendation. She is also the chef and partner of Orson restaurant and bar. This skilled and renowned chef is known for her cake masterpieces with dramatic, architectural structures.

Spike Mendelsohn

Redemption from: Season 4

Spike Mendelsohn (Washington, D.C.) is a Montreal native trained in classic French cooking and hosts an impressive history of cooking with some of the top French chefs, such as Gerard Boyer at Les Crayeres and Thomas Keller at Bouchon. He now resides in Washington D.C. and is the owner of Good Stuff Eatery and We the Pizza. He got his first taste of Kitchen Stadium last year as a challenger on Iron Chef America.

Nate Appleman

Redemption from: Season 2

Chef Nate Appleman's soulful cooking style has garnered local and national praise. As a 2009 James Beard Foundation Award Rising Star Chef winner, Food & Wine 2009 Best New Chef and San Francisco Chronicle Rising Star Chef, his cooking has been recognized by publications such as The New York Times, Bon Appetit, Martha Stewart Show and Gourmet. He recently relocated to New York where he to open Pulino's Bar and Pizzeria.

Amanda Freitag

Redemption from: Season 2

Amanda Freitag's passion for food was fostered by everyone from her grandparents to her high school home economics teacher. Today Amanda has emerged as one of New York City's most celebrated chefs. Amanda has battled Bobby Flay on Iron Chef America, competed on season two of The Next Iron Chef, has a recurring role as a judge on Chopped and frequently appears on Unique Eats.

Duskie Estes

Redemption from: Season 3

Duskie Estes fell in love with everything restaurant through her weekly Wednesday night dinners out with her father. She has worked at numerous top-notch restaurants. Her and her husband currently own and ZAZU Restaurant + Farm in Santa Rosa, California and BOVOLO in Healdsburg. The couple also owns MacBryde Farm, named for their daughters, Brydie and Mackenzie. Duskie likes to update comforting American classics with the best local ingredients Sonoma has to offer. She is an avid farmer and rancher, growing all the ingredients that go into her ribollita, and raising mangalitsa pigs, babydoll sheep, goats, chickens, heritage turkeys, and rabbits on their farm.

Alex Guarnaschelli

Redemption from: Season 4

Alex Guarnaschelli (New York, NY) can boast a hefty culinary career, working in top Michelin-rated restaurants. She has worked in some of the U.S' top restaurants including esteemed chef Guy Savoy's eponymous three-star kitchen. She has two NYC restaurants, Butter and the Darby. She's also the host of Food Network's Alex's Day Off and a judge on Chopped.

Jehangir Mehta

Redemption from: Season 2

Jehangir Mehta's culinary journey began much to the amusement of his family's maids and cooks, when Mumbai-born Jehangir took an interest in the goings-on of the kitchen. After he voiced a desire to pursue a career in the culinary arts, Jehangir's family put their full support behind him and sent him to the Culinary Institute of America. He is a creative genius, one of the hardest working men in the food business, eloquent and also truly a nice guy. A visit to his restaurant Graffiti will confirm it all, which he opened New York City in 2007 after being highly acclaimed at restaurants including Aix, Compass, and Jean-Georges.

Eric Greenspan

Redemption from: Season 2

Eric Greenspan is the chef and owner of The Foundry and The Roof on Wilshire. He considers New York the best food city in the world. Chef Greenspan battled Bobby Flay on Iron Chef America - and won - and competed on The Next Iron Chef Season 2.

Tim Love

Chef Tim Love is the chef and owner of several Fort Worth-area restaurants known for their urban Western cuisine. He won against Iron Chef Morimoto in Battle Chilli Pepper on Iron Chef America

Marcel Vigneron

Marcel Vigneron first learned to cook with his mother taught him to make pumpkin pie when he was about 8 years old. Chef Vigneron graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in New York and has worked with Chefs Michael Mina and Josè Andrès, among others. He is the owner of the catering company Modern Global Tasting.
